Hola Familia,
How is everyone?? This week was pretty good, minus the sick days, haha. I think I got our whole house sick, haha. It went from me to my companion, Sister Thurman, and right when we thought we were getting better, Sister Measles woke up super sick yesterday, haha. It's okay, though, more down time than usual, but we will go extra hard this week to make up for it!
Sister Measles and I went to service at Flamingo Gardens (Beautiful, look it up!) and moved and stacked a bunch of tables (my arms were dying, haha) and then cleaned up this snow pit that had been there in a bouncy house type thing but with a flat floor for two months, and let me tell you, it was not pretty! Haha, the snow was the consistency of mashed potatoes, and we had to scoop it out and put it in trash bags, but it was also really heavy, so we used lots of trash bags, haha. I have pictures, but I don't have my USB converter to get them from my SD card, so maybe next week! We also helped a member move down the street from their old house, which was good. We got it mostly done in 2 hours! (Yes, my little arms got QUITE the work out, haha, I need to work out better!)
A miracle we saw is that last Wednesday, we ate dinner at our chapel (a member got us Domino's, yum!) and then went out to knock for 10 minutes or so before our ward correlation meeting, and the second door we knocked we met Carla, Markus, and Faith! Carla and Markus had met with elders 8 years ago and had them over weekly for dinner, even inviting them for Thanksgiving! They are so nice, and we taught them part of the Restoration and they remembered how much they loved the "Mormons." They currently actively attend a different church, but I know that these seeds we continue to plant will one day lead them to accept the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I love Nephi, Helaman's son, and how in tune with the Spirit he is to be able to prophesy so exactly how the chief judge was murdered and how to find the culprit. (Around Helaman 8) It was so much fun to read! I know that we as missionaries(and everyone really), when we are obedient and striving to be led by the Spirit "at all times and in all places," He will never lead us astray; in fact, he will lead us to those who are prepared to receive us and the glorious message we carry!!!!
This past week has been pretty cold, but it is starting to warm up again in the 70's, which is super nice! The change of weather was fun, but I prefer proselyting in perfect 80 degree weather with a slight breeze, aahhh. Haha, so sorry for everyone else who is up in the cold!!! Funny side note, at service on of the managers told us that there was s high likelihood that a bunch of iguanas would freeze during the night, and that when the freeze on trees or other things they can fall to the ground or in water and die, but that it was okay because the population was getting too high, so mother nature knows best! I didn't see any frozen iguanas, but there was one in our members backyard and they rescued it :) (they showed us the video, it was funny haha)
