Hola Familia!
How is everyone doing? Sister Harris and I are doing great! Sorry in advance, I forgot my camera today 😬 but hopefully I won't make a habit of that, haha. Sister Harris is from Houston, Texas but her family moved to Lehi, Utah her senior year of high school. She says she is from Texas :) She also went to BYU for a year, I think, so that's cool. Go Cougs! Haha.
We have seen so many miracles just being here! Transfers were so fun! Sister Rosario went home :( but we got a picture, and I already received her email from home about her first few days back in the DR, she looks so happy! Now I am getting settled here in Country Walk, and after meeting most of the ward on Sunday, feel more ready to go out and help the ward here and the area grow and progress! It's been a week full of miracles, as less actives and part member families that the sisters in the past had tried for months to contact, answered their doors the very first time we knocked! I am so excited to help all of the people here, and I already feel so much love for the people, they have so much potential. They just need a little TLC, ha. We also found some new investigators this week, some we knocked into, another was a walk in at church last week that we have begun teaching, so we have got a lot to do, haha, which is how I like it!
Two of our new investigators are Becky and Ivan. Ivan is really old and can't talk, we think from smoking. He had a mesh-like handkerchief around his throat, so he may have one of those aspirator thingies, but he was just so sweet!!! We taught them the Plan of Salvation after sharing a prayer with them, and they loved it! There was such a sweet spirit there, It was so humbling to have been able to help these people see that God truly is so aware of each and every one of us and our own individual trials. He stared reading the pamphlet before we even finished, nodding his head at this and that, ha, so cute.
Living in a 4 man (Sister Harris and I, and Sister Tueller and her trainee Sister Lynch) is super fun! It's like being back up at school with roommates, except missionary style! I love it haha. We each have a car, and guess what... They are both RED!!! If any of you didn't know, I happen to love red cars! Ha. I though it was cool, I haven't driven a red car yet. We have also already biked here, to, which I love! We didn't bike at all last transfer, so it's fun to get back at it, haha. Excpet when there's no sidewalk.. Oh, funny story! So we stopped by some train tracks where the sidewalk stopped to figure out if we should find a way through the neighborhood instead of biking on a somewhat busy road with no sidewalk, and the dirt by the road was a few inches lower than the asphalt just where I was standing, so of course I loose my balance as my bike is pretty tall and slowly fall over. It was great, ha, a latin man driving down the road rolled down his window and laughed at me, haha. It didn't hurt, maybe just my pride! That's okay though, haha, God likes His missionaries humble! Haha. so embarrassing.
I just finished 2 Nephi, and something that really impressed me while reading Nephi's last words is how much love he truly has for his people, and for us who read his words today. You can really feel how much he truly wants everyone to come to a knowledge of the truth, how he speaks so clearly of the Doctrine of Christ and urging everyone to live it, even telling them how it will help them. Nephi is an amazing example of obedience, diligence, charity and faith. I always love studying his words and learning from his own personal experiences. The scriptures are so true!
Well, this is getting a little long, haha, I love you all so much, the church is true, and that is our way to finding everlasting peace! Have an amazing week!
